Hourglass

I made Hourglass because I wanted a timer I could glance at instead of read. A real hourglass shows you how much time is left by how much sand is left, and it does that without a single digit. The catch is that a real one only measures one duration.

Hourglass keeps the good part and fixes the catch. Set any time from five seconds to twenty-four hours, flip the glass, and the sand starts to fall. Every grain is paced by the clock, so the top bulb runs empty at the exact moment your timer ends. Not roughly. Exactly.

When time is up you get a proper alarm, even if the app is in the background or your phone restarted along the way. And because sand should behave like sand, tilt your phone and the piles lean and slide with it. Gravity mode is on by default, and the timer stays on time at any angle.

How it stays free

There is no account, and your timers stay on your device. One small banner at the bottom of the timer keeps the app free. Where the law asks for it, you decide whether ads may be personalized before the first one loads, and you can change your mind in Settings at any time.
